Our Process

So, you made the decision, you're ready for a new kitchen! The first step is to call us at 973.798.2700 and set-up an appointment with us at the American Made Custom Cabinet Company. After a few simple questions, we will set-up a date and time that works with your schedule and meet in person at our showroom.

Our showroom is packed with cabinetry that you can touch and feel. We also have full size door samples to make your decision-making process even easier. We understand that this is a huge decision for a space in your home whose purpose is to bring your family together. 

From the minute you walk in the door, our showroom will allow you the chance to browse the many door designs and plethora of colors that we have to offer, in both custom and semi-custom lines.

We can openly talk about all the details you desire in your new kitchen, in order to reflect and discuss specifics about your budget and your time frame. 

Our next step is for us to come to your home, measure the available space and start the design process. 

We believe some things are better off not being changed, so yes, what you've heard is true, we still do things the traditional way, by hand and by scale. This is after all about craftsmanship.

The process surely does take more time on our end, but we believe that our customers and their projects are worth the commitment. Based on the research, study and analysis we offer even before a contract is signed, you already know what you can expect in regard to our attention to details.

A week from the beginning of our design, we will meet back in the showroom to review the drawings, make any changes and review your preferences and design choices. Based upon your input, we will work diligently to provide you with a detailed proposal for your final review and signature. Once payment is received, the completed drawings will be released to you and we'll place the order for your cabinetry. 

If you have a contractor to perform all the necessary construction, we will gladly work with them. If you do not have a contractor to build your project, we will recommend one of a few selected contractors that we partner with and whose commitment and quality is up to our high standards. 

Generally, our custom cabinetry takes about 8 to 10 weeks to be manufactured to specs (average industry standard) and shipped to your home. There is virtually no limits to the personalization of your custom cabinetry.

Our semi-custom cabinets take about 4 weeks to arrive at your home. Although this line is more affordable, it offers less option for customization. This choice allows you an alternative on a custom level.
